THE COMPANY

We launched Boardroom Events in 2007 with a single-minded goal: to create best-in-class business development and networking experiences for leaders in the technology industry. Our team pioneered the concept of hosted boardroom meetings over a decade ago, to create experiences that are productive, engaging, and valuable. The Forums we produce today are an extension of that original model, refined over years of experience.

 

Our Forums attract thought leaders from all aspects of the market: IT and Marketing Executives, Solution Providers, and Industry Analysts. A significant factor in the success of our Forums is their thoughtful size, which helps us to provide a high-quality, exclusive, and personal experience. Everyone who comes to one of our Forums is vetted personally by our team. The knowledge we gain during that process ensures that the proper mix of people are in attendance, and that we are making connections that will become valuable business contacts.

 

Our business is all about relationships: the relationships we have with the people who attend our Forums, and the relationships they in turn develop with each other. The best of these stand the test of time, and create value for everyone involved.

Charles Badoian, President, Boardroom Events

For over 20 years, Charles has participated in the launch, development, acquisition and sale of innovative new media and events businesses. Prior to launching Boardroom Events, he served as a VP Program Management for Gartner Events Worldwide. He pioneered and led the hosted executive events business and its successful international expansion, having launched and managed numerous successful executive summits including: Gartner’s Energy & Utilities Summit, Gartner’s China Sourcing Summit, The Global Sourcing Summit, Gartner’s Healthcare IT Summit, Midsize Enterprise Summit, Project & Portfolio Management Summit, Print & Imaging Summit, the Gartner Symposium Invitation Program, and most recently the Midmarket CIO Forum and Enterprise Mobility Forum. Mr. Badoian is an avid sailor, and full time liveaboard living completely off solar and wind power on his boat in South Florida.

Co-founder and EVP of Client Services, Hilary leads a team of experts focused on connecting midmarket CIOs with each other and solutions to solve their business challenges. Leveraging my experience as a program director at Gartner and executive recruiter for a global placement agency serving IT executives has given me the technical experience and listening skills to support our clients.
Understanding pain points and working toward finding solutions is the fuel for my fire!
Currently I’m living a nomadic lifestyle and working remotely in a different country each month. Some of my favorite places so far have been Morocco, Spain and Colombia.

Katherine brings years of management and business development experience to the Boardroom Events team; prior to joining BE she spent four years helping build a boutique research firm focused on business analytics. Her role included partnership development, sales enablement and general business management. She also has a strong background in the midmarket as the past Managing Director of UBM/Gartner’s Midsize Enterprise Summit, Healthcare IT Summit, Print & Imaging Summit, Project & Portfolio Management Summit & Energy Summit. Katherine started her career with TechTarget Events where she started their successful custom events business.

Melissa is a results driven sales professional with experience in all aspects of the sales process as well as sales management. She has 20 years experience in the Technology and IT industry working with many corporate executive leaders developing partnerships through collaboration in both the US and Worldwide market segments. As a former Director at Gartner, she managed and led multiple teams and programs to success.

A native of New Hampshire, Melissa’s passions include warm weather, staying active and cheering on her two teenagers in all their sporting activities.

Hailing from the beautiful Northwest, working out of Portland OR, Dawn has been in the events industry for over 20 years.  Rain or shine, she’s active in all things outdoors and cherishes her friends, family and faith.

She brings her proven expertise two decades of sales and management experience providing overall business leadership on a strategic and tactical level to achieve breakthrough financial results. Accomplished Sales, Marketing, and Business Development Executive with expertise in launches, planning, forecasting, building client relationships, outstanding programs and sales teams. She has worked as Director, Consultant and Owner launching and managing several successful executive conferences as well as the SIM International annual conference. On the original team, as a joint venture with Gartner, Dawn was instrumental in developing and launching the inaugural midsize event which Gartner purchased in 2001. Continuing to work at Gartner, PPM, PEM and ITBE before joining Boardroom Events, Dawn is a dedicated partner and advisor to the solution provider community.

Rachel comes to Boardroom Events with almost a decade of experience as an architect and designer. User experience design is of particular interest and is a tangential skill Rachel enjoys applying to event design as well as technology related experiences. She recently took on the task of designing the new BE Connect portal and is looking forward to continuing that effort to improve the year round experience. When Rachel is away from the computer you can find her at the beach or taking in the architecture in a new city.

Strategic marketing, communications and business development professional with experience in IT, journalism, and aviation industries. Produced industry-defining portfolio of executive forums for Gartner Events Worldwide including Global Sourcing, Healthcare IT, Midsize Enterprise, Project & Portfolio Management, Small Business Vision, Government Sourcing Summit as well as the Midmarket CIO Forum. She has led numerous market engagement, analysis, and brand positioning activities for security vendor BeyondTrust to execute post-acquisition brand realignment and expansion plan. She has also forged several strategic partnerships within the IT research and publishing community and international aviation associations to efficiently execute on concept to meet business growth objectives.

For the past 23 years Debra has been involved in several aspects of IT Sales including; Business Development, Inside Sales, and International business for companies such as Cabletron, Alcatel, Altiris (a Symantec Co.) eIQnetworks and BeyondTrust. Her experiences include providing hardware, software and IT security software solutions to the Midsize, Enterprise and Federal Government markets.

Debra enjoys developing relationships with IT Leaders while helping them to make the connections to the solutions represented onsite to meet their business needs and make them IT Superstars!

Whether it be boating, swimming, hiking with her two chocolate labs, snowmobiling, gardening or tending to her Koi pond, she can always find a reason to be outside.

Blair is a communications specialist with 15 years experience in the print media sector. Prior to joining Boardroom Events, she was a member of an accomplished sales team in the New York City real estate market. She enjoys volunteering, yoga and taking full advantage of the Florida Keys with her new daughter.

With over a decade of experience in the technology events industry, Susie has worked closely with executives and vendors alike to ensure a flawless event experience. She brings a multifaceted knowledge of events to the BE team having experience in roles across sales, audience recruitment, vendor support and operational logistics which have honed her expertise with the hosted boardroom event model. Prior to joining Boardroom Events in 2010, Susie worked for Gartner Worldwide Events focused on midmarket, healthcare, IT security, and other technology-specific summits. When not obsessing over every last detail, you’ll find Susie in her home state of Massachusetts doting on her two perfectly rambunctious daughters, starting an impromptu dance party, or cheering on her beloved New England Patriots.

Sean has worked in digital marketing for several years and joined the Boardroom Events team in 2016. Now, having added database administration and application integration to his repertoire, he is responsible for most aspects of Boardroom’s technology infrastructure.

Ms. Morris spent the first 7 years of her career in public account at Ernst & Young, LLC and Mountjoy & Bressler, LLC. As an auditor, she specialized in manufacturing companies, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other specialized companies. Ms. Morris then went to work for NarrowCast Group, LLC as their Accounting Manager and Financial Manager.

For 43 years Jay held senior level executive positions in a variety of industries including large scale commercial real estate development, ownership & management, banking, medical and music publishing.  After retiring from a successful business career, Jay was inspired to join Boardroom Events, first as Database Administrator and now heading up research and lead generation.  Jay also dabbles extensively in songwriting, having published 22 albums and serves as a nominating and voting member of both the Grammy and the Latin Grammy Awards.
