Charting a Fresh Course

Another Midmarket CIO Forum has come and gone, and the tenacious team at Boardroom Events feels more than ever like The Little Engine That Could. Any challenges or hurdles that might arise are met with an admirable level of perseverance to deliver the best experience for our CIO clients and the vendors with whom they partner. It’s personal. Without fail at every single event, either an executive or vendor casually notes, “It feels like a family.”
I can’t help but beam with pride when I receive feedback like this:
“The collaboration with my peers is a feature not found in most IT Leadership events. The opportunity to really get to know other CIOs and really get to know several vendors sure beats the brief opportunities we have to speak with vendors at typical conferences.” – Mike Benz, VP of IT, Kraus-Anderson
“The Midmarket CIO Forum is better organized, better executed, and better focused on the needs of midmarket companies than most of the IT conferences I have attended.” – Mitch Taylor, Dir. IT & Security, Ingomar Packing Co.
“Attendees have similar challenges and all are at the VP / CIO level. Having others in this peer group to network with is invaluable and unlike any other event. The solutions and vendors are all relevant to things we do every day.” – John Smith, VP IT, Reily Foods
Like sailors, CIOs revel in the days when the wind is blowing at a perfect cruising speed – customers are happy, teams are harmonious and business flows without interruption. But demands on IT executives are higher than ever, evidenced by the fact that security concerns permeated nearly every conversation earlier this month in Savannah at Midmarket CIO Forum.
Staying focused while remaining open to outside the box ideas is critical for our team’s as well as our clients’ success. Jeff Young, CIO at Haynes International will now chair the Midmarket CIO Forum Advisory Board to better manage and effectively utilize this powerful group in a transition from an operational review of our programs to a more strategic partner in Boardroom Events’ growth.
Speaking of charting a new course, I’m honored to be traveling to Puerto Rico this summer in partnership with Sail Relief Team who’ve been offering everything from primary medical care to critical home repairs after the devastating 2017 hurricane season.
