Presentation: Technology Breakout - Day 2 - Digital Transformation - Separating the Hype from the Reality Digital transformation is a hot buzzword. But what does it really mean, and what is truly actionable? This session will avoid being overly vague and will provide concrete steps to leverage available technologies to help your company become more agile and responsive. Technologies discussed will include machine learning, data analytics, IoT, and the cloud. Use cases will be presented, along with practical methods to measure the state of your capabilities in today’s technical climate. Biography: Jeff has over 25 years in the technology industry, with leadership positions in both application development and infrastructure management. He has led the digital transformation of companies in the retail, IoT and digital marketing sectors. Prior to starting Nubo Power, Jeff was the CTO for Digital Media Solutions, a full-service performance marketing company focusing on the health, mortgage, career and education industries. Jeff oversaw all cloud technologies for the company, which included cloud consolidation (due to acquisitions) and strategic planning. Prior to Digital Media Solutions, Jeff built the technology team for an IoT start-up in South Florida, building strategic partnerships with Intel and BT Group and working with top retailers on IoT and RFID solutions based upon mobile devices and the cloud. At Lazy Days RV (world’s largest RV dealership), Jeff modernized the application portfolio, relocated the infrastructure from a colocation facility to the cloud, and re-architected the company’s websites with a more responsive design and support for multimedia. Jeff spent most of his career at Beall’s inc. ($1B retailer), the last seven years as CTO, overseeing a network of 600 stores, onsite datacenters, colocation facilities, and four distribution centers. Jeff also led the design and development of the company’s ecommerce site as well as all mobile development for store associates.
