MIDMRKTx Presentations

Session 1 - DevOps: A View from the Trenches
Jeff Fudge - Director of IT Operations at Ashley Furniture
DevOps is not a “one size fits all” solution. The term “DevOps” means different things to different people, and now we have the concept of “DevSecOps”. This session is about how I have executed various implementations of DevOps at four different companies and the lessons I learned along the way with a special focus on the risks and challenges of implementing a true DevOps oriented culture.

Session 2 - Leadership: Bridging Organizational Divide in a Broken Organization
Presented by Ken Knapton - SVP & CIO at Merrick Bank
Because of the broad nature of IT, CIOs find themselves responsible for a very diverse set of personalities and skill sets. Building a culture of cooperation among departments that often have a natural segregation of duties divide between them takes leadership and conscious effort. This case study presentation will review a recent culture change initiative within an IT organization that had a history of contention between development and infrastructure. We will discuss the key elements and tactics that were used to effect cultural change, which eventually led to a cohesive culture of cooperation in this organization.

Session 3 - Strengthening Your Human Firewall
